RGHF History Library "Rotary's Memory" since 2000

VALUE OF HISTORY: "It will reveal to them that history is not merely a vague and distant subject that should be left to a few absentminded professors who live obscure lives in the bowels of our libraries. On the contrary, it is the most vital and necessary study to which a citizen who means well by his fellowmen and the community at large can ever hope to devote himself. For the purpose of history is to give meaning to that which otherwise would make no sense. And sense is the basis for that reasonable and decently human life for which we are fighting."  From: Every Man A Historian, by Hendrik Willem van Loon, American historian and author (The Rotarian, May, 1944)

Here we maintain some of our most valuable material. You may read all three of Paul Harris' books in their entirety and portions of other, hard-to-find and valuable publications on Rotary. All of our material and research is found below.

There are even critics of Rotary included here. Where ever you visit, you'll find links to other portions of our large project for further information.

Anytime you get lost, just click on our navigation link at the top of the page, and you'll find what you're looking for. We even have the history of music in Rotary.

Paul Harris readily admits that he invented nothing new, but it is said of him that he was a man for his time. In reading "Founder" you'll learn what shaped this leader who changed the world. In reading "Rotarian Age" you'll learn what Harris dreamed for Rotary, how it works and its future. These are all found in the Bibliography.

The Bibliography also contains books on line, and records of other history books from districts and clubs around the world. This is a dynamic document and are always seeking more contributions.

The purpose of this entire project is to give you the tools to bring greater good to the world; through the magic of fellowship, understanding, tolerance, goodwill and other values so carefully imbued in the life of Paul P. Harris and the many other early leaders of Rotary whom you will meet on "Your Road to Rotary."

You may also wish to read our discussion at www.rghfforum.org and join in by becoming a member of RGHF.
