Fellowship for Cruising Rotarians
GENERAL INFORMATION
The Shipshape No. 18 click here
The Fellowship's role is purely to establish an online meeting place for Rotarians to interact and find out information about cruising.

Rotaractors, partners of Rotarians and others with a Rotary association are eligible to join.

The Fellowship plans to contact the major cruise lines asking for regular meetings on board to be automatically scheduled on all cruises. This is a fellowship for Rotarians who are interested in all forms of pleasure cruising.

The idea to establish the Fellowship for Cruising Rotarians was sparked during a chat between two Rotarians following a lively Rotary meeting on board a cruise ship in February 2014.

The Rotarians chatted about how they could harness all thatís good about Rotary and cruising, and came up with the idea of forming the Fellowship for Cruising Rotarians. That dream became a reality in January 2015 and the Fellowship has around 200 members as at August 2016.

The point of difference with this Fellowship is that it is Facebook-based.

Rotarians join the Fellowship then to join the Facebook group-page where they can join in lively chatter on a daily basis. The page provides an online forum and interactive meeting place for Rotarians wanting information about cruising, and is also a place to share their information.

The Fellowship maintains a database of cruises that members have booked and endeavours to match those on the same cruise.

All members, including members who are not into Facebook, keep in touch with whatís happening in the world of cruising via a monthly newsletter:

ShipShape.

There are no joining or membership fees, due to all communications being electronic. Members voted not to have a webpage as this requires a financial commitment.

If a DGE/N/D joins prior to their year, they will have more exposure to Rotary's Global History by their service year.
This will be beneficial to all concerned.
