The Early Years[edit]

The Rotary Club of College Park-Orlando is a member of Rotary International. District 6980 is composed of clubs in the five counties of Central Florida. The College Park-Orlando club was chartered on February 23, 1986.

Societal Contributions[edit]

Rotary has maintained it's strength over the years by concentrating efforts on issues that are relevant to communities around the world; such as, literacy, peace, education, and health.

Community Service[edit]

College Park-Orlando Rotary has supported such programs as

  • Relay For Life--The Rotary Club of College Park is proud to support the Relay For Life of Downtown/College Park as a sponsor and Luminaria chair. The Luminaria ceremony is the most inspiring and powerful moment of the event; an opportunity to share and reflect as we line the track with glowing Luminaria bags after sundown.
  • Meals on Wheels--Meals on Wheels, along with its program partners, lead the effort to ensure that individuals in our community receive nutritious meals and the human connection they need to enable them to live independently.
  • Food Packing Party Benefiting the Love Pantry

International Service[edit]

End Polio Now--In 1985, Rotary launched PolioPlus, an ambitious program to immunize the world’s children against polio.

Youth Services[edit]

  • Exchange Program--The College Park Club participates in the Rotary Youth Exchange Program where students from other countries spend up to a year living with a few host families and attending school in the local area.
  • Student of the Month--During the school year, the Rotary Club of College Park recognizes an outstanding student every week from St. Charles Borromeo, Lee Middle School, Bishop Moore High School or Edgewater High School. One student per month from each school is selected by the faculty to receive the recognition.
  • Imagination Library--The Rotary Club of College Park has joined forces with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to provide a free book to children from birth to age five. Subject to funding, this program will be available to ALL children in the Princeton Elementary and Lake Silver Elementary School Districts as well as 32804, 32808 and 32810 zip code areas.
  • Sponsor Students for Rotary Youth Leadership Awards


  • Taste of College Park Food & Wine Festival--Every spring Rotary Club of College Park hosts the Taste of College Park Food & Wine Festival. The festival takes place at the Historic Dubsdread ballroom.
  • Annual Edgewater High School BBQ

Dubsdread is located on Par Street, about 1 mile west of I-4, near the corner of Edgewater Drive. The Rotary Club of College Park meets in the front banquet room (immediate right after entering building); adjacent parking in the front lot, or anywhere on property if that lot is full.
